Dr. Blaine A. Littlefield is a Doctor of Optometry. He is a licensed primary eye care doctor who specializes in the examination, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and disorders of the eye.
To become an optometrist today requires an extensive undergraduate and graduate-level professional education. Dr. Littlefield received his undergraduate training at the University of Maine in Orono, graduating with a four year degree in 1979. His graduate training was from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry where he majored in optometry for four years earning his doctorate degree in 1983.
Dr. Littlefield completed his internship at the Eye Institute in Philadelphia and one of his externships in the Pediatrics unit of the Eye Institute. He also externed with Dr. Daniel Brooks in General Practice and Contact Lenses in Bangor, Maine and Dr. Larry W. Ritter in General Practice and Vision Training in Westbrook, Maine.
Dr. Littlefield has been in private practice in Brunswick since 1983. He currently is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Maine Optometric Association, Optometric Extension Program, a Fellow of the College of Vision Development, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. He is also an adjunct faculty member of Salus University in Philadelphia and the New England College of Optometry in Boston.
Dr. Littlefield lives in Freeport with his wife, Vicki.
