Maine Optometry would like to extend a hearty congratulations to Dr. Andre Achenbach for becoming the newest president of the Maine Optometric Association.

Maine Optometric Association (MOA) promotes the field of optometry as the primary eye care profession, provides professional development and career advocacy to optometrists, and works to advocate for the quality and availability of eye care health to Maine citizens.

“I am honored to be the president-elect for Maine Optometric Association and am enthusiastic for the advancement of the optometric profession in Maine,” said Achenbach. “In this role, I will be able to assist colleagues in their career goals while continuing to provide care for patients.”

The MOA is responsible for promoting technological advances that are available to optometrists for their practices. They also offer training for optometrists and staff to teach better delegation, leading to a more efficient practice.

Dr. Achenbach began his career with Maine Optometry in 2012 as an associate and became a partner in 2015. He specializes in pediatrics, contact lenses and the treatment and management of diseases of the eye. Dr. Achenbach cares for his patients in Maine Optometry’s Lewiston and Gorham offices.
