
Dr. Townsend grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is bilingual in Spanish and English.
Dr. Townsend studied optometry at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, earning both a Bachelors in Vision Science, and a Doctorate in Optometry. There she was selected as a member of the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society for her leadership skills and service. She was also the President of the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists at NSU.
Dr. Townsend completed her ocular disease training at the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Bethel, Alaska. She co-managed the care of patients with glaucoma, cataracts, and other ocular conditions at the Eye Centers of South Florida in North Miami Beach. She completed her clinical training in pediatrics and contact lenses in Davie, Florida.
Outside of work, Dr. Townsend enjoys dancing, photography, and traveling. She loves spending time with her friends and family.
