Dr. Victoria L. Gagnon was born and raised in the small town of Madawaska, ME. After graduating from Madawaska High School, she completed an accelerated 3+4 year program through the University of Maine at Orono and the New England College of Optometry, which earned her a Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in chemistry. Dr. Gagnon received her Doctor of Optometry degree in May of 2019 and graduated Salutatorian in her optometric class at NECO.
During her time at NECO, Dr. Gagnon completed the Pediatric Concentration Program. Throughout the program she developed her passion for pediatric eye care and had unparalleled clinical experience through several internships at clinics throughout New England and beyond. At Bascom Palmer Eye Institute Pediatric Clinic in Miami, FL, she treated infants and children with visual impairments, complex genetic conditions, and binocular vision disorders. At VA Togus in Augusta, ME, she gained experience in ocular disease and low vision. At Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, MA, she provided functional low vision exams for patients with varying disabilities. And at Boston Medical Center, Dr. Gagnon gained experience in specialty contact lens exams.
For her passion, hard work, and academic excellence, Dr. Gagnon was awarded the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society Silver Medal, Ned S. Witkin Leadership in Low Vision Award, and the Good Lite Equipment Award for academic and clinical achievement in pediatric optometry.
Dr. Gagnon enjoys downhill skiing, traveling, painting, and spending time with family and friends. She looks forward to returning to work in Maine and welcomes new patients!
