Is my doctor assigned to a single location?
The doctors at Maine Optometry typically work in one or two offices across the practice’s seven locations.

Does Maine Optometry accept my insurance?
Please check out the list of insurances we accept <link?>. If you don’t see your plan listed, please give us a call at 207-729-8474 to see if we are in-network with your plan.

How often should I get my eyes checked?
The American Optometric Association (AOA) recommends yearly eye exams.

What is the fastest way to get an appointment?
Currently, the fastest way to get an appointment is to call our scheduling team at 207-729-8474 M-F 8:00 to 5:00.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

Please bring your new patient forms and your insurance card to your appointment.

If I have an eye injury should I go to my Optometrist or to the hospital?

Many eye emergencies can be treated by your Optometrist. If you experience an eye emergency our injury during our open hours, please call us and we can get you in for treatment and/or refer you as needed.

If you experience an eye injury, particularly any of the following, when we are not open, please head to your local emergency room or urgent care center:
Cut or puncture of the eye
Foreign object in the eye
Chemical exposure
Bleeding of the eye
Loss of vision

Do I have to make an appointment to shop for frames?

We do not require an appointment to shop for eyewear, but due to our COVID protocols, there might be a wait to enter the office to look at frames.

Can I order my contacts online?

Yes, you can easily do so using the ‘Contact Lens’ order button you’ll find at the top of your screen.

Can I pay my bill online?

Yes, you can easily do so using the ‘Pay My Bill’ button you’ll find at the top of your screen.
