Meet Dr. Erin Murphy
Erin Murphy, O.D., is an optometrist at Maine Optometry in Lewiston. While scleral lens fittings are her specialty, she’s also passionate about providing eye disease management to patients through different forms of treatment.
Dr. Murphy’s Experience
After earning her bachelor’s degree from Castleton University, Dr. Murphy graduated from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences with a focus on the anterior segment, dry eye, and specialty contact lenses. Dr. Murphy’s externship rotation was with Northeastern Eye Institute, where she worked on complex scleral lens cases. She completed additional rotations at the Togus VA and Providence Community Health Center. She’s now taking on new and existing patient appointments at our Lewiston office.

Get to Know Dr. Murphy
Dr. Murphy’s love for eye care grew while working with an optometrist in a small private practice through high school and college, which inspired her to become an eye doctor. She enjoys living in Maine and is excited to serve her local community. When she’s not caring for patients in the community, she spends her free time by the beach and painting.

The appointment was on time and went well, my prescription was re-evaluated, and I think they zeroed in correcting my prescription better than anyone else ever has, that was very important, and I feel great with the current prescription given to me. They have very nice eyeglasses, types I have purchased before from other places, but I found their prices to be high for the frames I chose and had them price, so I didn't buy any eyeglasses there because of the price.

I thought the Oakley frames were probably beyond repair and they were not new frames. Unfortunately I was right about the frames. I was very pleased and surprised when they said they would replace the frames and even adjust the prescription slightly in the lenses. Dr Todd Hamilton at the Standish Office definitely went above and beyond to take great care of me and it is very much appreciated!

The atmosphere is always good and all of the staff treats everyone respectfully. They even took the time to explain my eyeglass prescription so I could price out glasses online and didn’t give me or my husband a hard time about not getting both of our glasses through them. Excellent service all the way around!
