
Dr. Abigail Delahanty grew up in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, and graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School. She attended Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts, and graduated cum laude with a BS in Psychobiology. She then went on to attend Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
Dr. Delahanty completed an optometry rotation at the Indian Health Service in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she provided eye care to Native Americans. She also completed training at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center, in Charleston, South Carolina. Both rotations allowed for extensive training in the management and treatment of ocular diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Delahanty also completed a rotation at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with a focus in Low Vision, leading to a passion for helping patients with vision impairments. She has experience in fitting contact lenses and vision therapy, having completed a contact lens rotation at North Park Vision Center in Westminster, Colorado.
Dr. Delahanty currently resides in Windham. She enjoys going on long walks in the woods with her standard poodle, Milo. She did her first rotation as an optometry student at Maine Optometry and is happy to be returning to the practice as a doctor.
